Welcome to Volt Auctions! Whether you are looking to score a great deal or hunt down a rare item, our auction platform is designed to be fair, exciting, and accessible.
Here is everything you need to know about how to participate, win, and claim your items.
Auction Pass
To ensure a secure environment and prevent fake or "shill" bidding, all users must hold an Auction Pass to participate.
- How it works: The pass costs a flat, fully refundable $5.
- Refunds: You can withdraw your $5 and return the pass at any time, provided you do not have any active bids on the platform.
- Penalty: If you win an auction but fail to pay for your item, your $5 pass will be confiscated as a penalty. If this happens, you are still welcome to participate in future auctions, but you will need to purchase a new $5 Auction Pass.
To get the Auction Pass, click the “Activate” button on top of the Auctions page.
Auction Rules
Every item has its own specific parameters to keep the bidding competitive and fair. You can find these details listed under the Auction Rules section on the item's detail page:
- Starting Price: The minimum amount required to open the auction.
- Minimum Increment: The smallest amount you can add to the current leading bid. Note: This minimum increment may increase as the item reaches higher price tiers.
- Maximum Bid Step: To prevent users from placing absurdly high fake bids to lock out the competition, there is a cap on how much higher you can bid over the current price in a single jump.
- Anti-Sniper Setting: To give everyone a fair chance, any bid placed in the final few seconds of an auction will automatically add a few extra minutes to the timer.
How to Place a Bid
NOTE: You do not need to have the funds currently in your wallet to place a bid.
Step 1: Navigate to the Auctions tab on the Volt site.
Step 2: Browse the active listings and click on the item you want.
Step 3: Go to the bidding section and enter your desired amount. For convenience, you can also use the pre-set amount buttons to quickly choose the bid amount.
Step 4: Tap Place Bid.
💡 Tip: Want to see who you are up against? You can view the full Bid History—including a log of your own previous bids—directly on the item's page.
If you win, you will be given a 3-day grace period to add the funds and complete your payment. After paying, the item will be sent to your inventory, and you can either claim the physical item or keep it in your account to trade with other users.
Buy Now
Do not want to wait for the timer to run out? Some items feature a Buy Now option.
Clicking this allows you to pay a specified price to instantly end the auction and claim the item as the guaranteed winner. However, unlike standard bidding, Buy It Now requires you to have the total funds available in your wallet immediately. There is no 3-day grace period for this option.
Auction Start Reminder
Want to get a head start on your bidding strategy? You can view all Upcoming Auctions directly on the main Auctions page.
If you see an item you want to track, simply click the Add to Calendar button to sync the auction's exact start time with your Apple or Google Calendar so you receive a reminder the moment it goes live.
